Well, our 2011 season has officially drawn to a close. We had such a great summer and wanted to thank everyone for being a part of it. We are already getting excited about next season, which will start the last week of April! In the meantime, we will be in touch now and then to check in on you. :) Thanks again from everyone at the Back Porch!

Our Back Porch Wedge Salad is a favorite around here, so we wanted to share with you the recipe for the Blue Cheese Dressing. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt (it is best to use sea salt)
1/3 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 1/3 cup mayonnaise
4 ounces Danish blue cheese; crumbled
Preparation:
In a mixer bowl, blend sour cream, mustard, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and Worcestershire for 2 minutes at low speed. Add mayonnaise. Blend 1/2 minute at low speed and 2 minutes at medium speed. By hand, crumble cheese into mixture. Blend at low speed no more than 4 minutes. Refrigerate 24 hours before Serving.

Our power came on yesterday and we are opening today at our normal time with a full menu! We hope everyone is recovering and will have their power back soon, too. In the meantime, come on down and enjoy the beautiful weather and delicious food!

Well folks, we’re sorry to say that we are without power and not sure when it’s going to be restored. So, we are going to have to make the call day by day as to when we can reopen. Hopefully it will be soon!!

With the weather report holding steady, we have decided to cancel tonight’s entertainment, and will be closed tomorrow. We are planning on opening Monday at our regular time, but that will be contingent on us having power.
